Please stop by the City Office located at 218 North Rock Street to start services.
The City of Minneapolis offers Electrical Utilities, Water Utilities, a
nd we also collect a refuse fee for the county land fill. The pick up fee for trash is referenced under the refuse section below.
City Utility Billing: City of Minneapolis, all accounts are due
on the 10th of the month.
Month and deliquent on the 20th.

Dogs and Cats: There is a leash law for dogs but not for cats.
You do need to purchase tags for both. They can be purchased
at City hall 30 days after moving into Minneapolis. You must have
current rabies vaccination certificate with you. Please inform
us of your dogs breed as there are restrictions on certain breeds
of dogs within the city limits. Please contact the city office
or stop by.
Building Permits: A permit is required when adding to the
original structure or adding a permanent structure.
Please check with the City Office on any construction
to ensure the correct permitting is obtained.
Refuse: The city collects$6.00 per resident for the use
of the landfill. Refuse pickup is done be Minneapolis Refuse
and they can be contacted at 392-2564.
Burning: Burning is permitted if its in a proper
container with a cover that will not emit sparks.
Burning does not include garbage such as food, etc.
Weeds: The City has a weed and grass ordinance
stating that weeds and grasses should not exceed
12 inches in height.
Compost Pile: The City has a compost pile,
which may be used for grass clippings and branches only.
Zoning Laws: Before starting an in-home business
please contact the city offices to ensure that it
meets the zoning requirements.
